Okonomiyaki are a typically Japanese dish and there is nothing like it really in Western cuisines even though it’s often compared to pizza, pancake, or omelette. It is made of a batter composed of eggs, wheat flour, dashi (Japanese stock), and white cabbage. The batter is cooked on a hot plate with various added ingredients, such as pork, squid, shrimps, scallion, and more.
