Japan is swallowing Halloween!
Japan is crazy for Halloween and it doesn’t fade year after year. Bloody red, sinister purple, worrying orange, harrowing black… as we’re getting close to Halloween, the colors are changing in the plates: let’s have a look at the most appetizing food of the season!
Eyeballs seem to be all over the place this year, starting with Hilton Tokyo hotel’s dessert buffet. Would you like some Witch Organ Soup with floating worms and eyeballs, or some fleshy eyeballs watching you from the top of your cupcake? You really can’t stand eyes? Have some of this bloody cake, then?
But if you can’t get enough with eyes, Roppongi Hills’ entertainment complex in Tokyo has them all over cakes, crepes, and drinks!

As for sweet snacks, ice creams are glowing in the dark at Baskin Robbins Japan and pancakes are dripping with poisoned-looking sauce and bathing in some congealed bloody liquid at Eggs’n’Things. For a kawaii treat, Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel’s pastry shop proposes pumpkin pies dressed up as witches.
Devour the Purple Magic Bacon Double Excellent Cheeseburger before it devours you! The fastfood Lotteria is even serving them in coffin-boxes.
At McDonald’s, there has been chocolate French fries for a while but to make the experience even more spooky than it already was for delicate tastebuds, there is now an orange sauce with Halloween Choco Potato or a violet one for Halloween Witch French Fries, on top of the chocolate sauce of course.
